Pumpkin Carving~

Last night Bryan and I had our Annual Pumpkin Carving Family Night!!! We had Kensy and Brady, and Landon and Darcy and their girls come over to carve pumpkins, eat yummy food, and enjoy each others company- This is our little family.... This is the pumpkin that Dad carved for Kayson!!! Isn't it a masterpiece.... I thought it was a bat till Bry corrected me and said it was a SYCLOPSE!!!! Pretty neat huh?And here they are- the finished products!!!! Good Job guys- for any Twilight fans out there ( yes I happen to be one) The pumpkin on the far right is to represent!! Way to go Darce- Great job!!!

These are Kensy and Brady's LOVELY carvings........Brady had the largest pumpkin there and I have to say it turned out great! ( Don't worry yours is good too Kens ;) )This is Jada and Brecca showing me their Spooky Ghost.... IT'S HEAVY.......

Last year Darcy introduced me to pumpkin seeds I had had them before but I had never made them myself! I LOVE THEM! So as everyone was carving I was sifting through all the gooey slimy insides pulling out all the seeds that I could so that I could salt and bake them! YUMMM- thanks to Brady's pumpkin I got some great big seeds that are going to be delightful!
Thanks you guys for coming! We had a great time- can't wait to do it again next year!!!!!!!

ENOUGH ALREADY~

I don't know about anyone else but I am getting so TIRED of all this election garbage! Enough already let's just get it over with!!!! Forgive me for being so straight forward but I have to admit I dislike them both and idealy I think that neither one should be President...... On a side note- I do like Sara Palin- let's forego the two candidates up to bat and vote her to be the head hauncho.... in all honesty I think we'd be much better off........

Thanks Grandma Smith

Bryan had to go out of town for a few days this week for work so yesterday Kayson and I decided to go spend the night with Grandma Smith!!! We had a great time- We took a bath read some books, and Kayson got to sleep the whole night with Mommy!!! I am learning very quickly that he is hard to sleep with- he's such a little wiggle worm...

When kayson woke up this morning he was such a snuggle bug(and anyone who knows my son- knows how wiggly he is- the child NEVER holds still) and guess who got them all! YEP- Grandma Smith..... He just snuggled her to death and when Grandma Wendy came down, he even spread some love her way as well. I am so lucky to have such a happy little guy all the time! Thanks Arda for all you do and for letting us come spend the evening and part of the morning with you- We LOVE you tons!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Bugz!

I Just wanted to take a quick minute and say happy Birthday to my sista! Happy 19th Bugz, we love you and appreciate all you do!!! I hope you had a great day!

Quirky Tag~

I enjoyed reading this tag on Kensy's blog and decided to participate as well..... the tag is to list 6 quirky things about yourself! Now, I am kindof a wierdo, but I didn't realize to what extent till I started thinking about all the wierd stuff that I do...

#1: SHOES- I HATE shoes.... my feet are clostriphobic and don't like being confined.... If I could wear flip flops all year round I most deffinately would. Unfortunately that is not an option when the snow hits!! Also, no matter what time of year I cannot stand to where shoes inside.... it drives me nuts!

#2: 2 AT A TIME- K, so whenever I eat Skittles, Jelly Beans (I love the starburst ones) or French Fries I eat them 2 at a time. I don't do that with anything else but those three things.... ALSO- I don't eat any more than 2 at a time- just 2.... If I get to the end of the bag or whatever and there is only one left I won't eat it!

#3: SMELLS- I have a nose like my mother. I have an incredible sense of smell that's getting worse as I get older. One of the things that I am almost a bit 'over the top' about is the smell of my house. My house HAS to smell good when I walk in or it drives me insane.

#4:KITCHEN FLOOR- anyone that knows me well enough, knows that I am a bit of a clean freak!! (A quality that I am not at all ashamed of) I could go on and on about this subject alone, but one of my biggest pet peeves of all time is when I walk on the kitchen floor and stuff sticks to the bottom of my feet or socks! SICK!!

#5: GROCERY STORE- K, so when I go the grocery store I always start in the produce section and work my way to the other end. Also when I put my groceries in the cart I have this weird habit of organizing everything in the cart.... All the box stuff goes together, all the bag stuff goes together, all the can stuff goes together, all the produce goes together, etc I am not one of these people that can just throw everything in the cart and go!

#6: MY CLOSET- I am a wierdo about my closet. I have a system, all the long sleeve stuff goes together all the short sleeve stuff goes together, collard shirts, T shirts, etc and everything has to be facing the same direction! All of my jeans are together and hoodies all go together as well. I am not sure when this obsession started, but I think it was sometime in Jr. High......

So,there's 6 Quirky things about me!! It's amazing how aware of these things I have become since having to actually think about it- What can I say I am a wierdo!!!!!!!

Cousins

A little over a week ago we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and we were able to spend some time with Sara and the girls also. It is so fun to see Audrey and Anna interact with Kayson! They are so cute with him. Audrey loves to hold him and I never have my camera, so this time I was so glad when Grandpa snapped a picture! Audrey is so cute with him- she will gently touch his face and his hands, and she will just sit and stare at him. Kayson is quite entrigued with her as well..... he smiles at her lots. I love that Kayson has cousins.... cousins are fun and I am excited to watch them grow up together!

Fall Bike Ride

This post was designed and produced by Bryan in an attempt to break up the usual Kayson bragging that has been occupying the majority of the Westerberg blog as of late.

With the Conference Weekend forecast looking like bad weather, as usual, I decided to go for a long fall bike ride on Friday to enjoy the colors and cooler air. I left from the Birch Creek Parking lot and headed up the German Dugway.
A view from the Worm Lake trail looking back towards the highline trail in the far distance. Bloomington Lake is just to the SE.
My lack of photo taking knowledge really shows as these pictures really do not do the fall colors justice. This is an old steam boiler used for logging or possibly mining at one time. It has been left behind due to the extreme effort it would take to transport it out. The boiler is up Dry canyon on the Bear Lake side of the mountain.

I thought this old tree that had fallen across the trail was kind of neat because it was so large, the picture makes it look like two trees have fallen, one on top of the other, but it was actually one very large old tree with two trunks.

I came across and obstacle in the trail, a rather steep drop off, getting down wasn't to hard, but I was nervous that getting back up and over might exceed my riding capabilities so I took a picture for the insurance company just in case.

And 51 miles later the trail turns into asphalt. This is the high way that leads to the Minitonka Cave above the North shore of Bear Lake. I had to slip down the highway a few miles to the city St. Charles grab some gas and snickers bars and then headed up St. Charles Canyon to Egan Basin then catch the High Line Trail and back to the truck round trip 87 miles. I am grateful that my wife puts up with my attempts at adventure and lets me dodge responsibility once and awhile.

12 weeks old today!!!!

I can't believe that my baby is already 3 months old! It's so crazy...... He is growing so fast!! We are having so much fun with him and we can't imagine loving anything more..... He has brought such a sweet spirit into our home and our lives and we just love him to pieces!!!!!! Hmmmmm does this remind you of anyone?? Anybody that knows my husband knows that he doesn't go anywhere without his sunglasses- so naturally we can't have Kayson going anywhere without his!!!!!!!
Bath time is quickly becoming one of his favorite things!!! He is figuring out that by kicking and moving his arms he can splash the water and he LOVES it!
His smiles are classic they literally go from ear to ear I LOVE IT.... I am so grateful to have such a happy little guy... he makes me giggle.... I love you monkey!

Trip to Burley to Welcome Jason Home~

We went to Burley this weekend to see my little bro (or should I say "big" Bro) who is home from his mission. I love him to pieces and it's so good to have him home. We enjoyed hearing all about his Mission, Honduras, companions and the people there and we are so proud of him for serving!!! Nana snugglin Kayson before dinner!!!! And there he is..... Elder Pollard is finally home!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what Auntie Goose is doin but Kayson has gt the funniest look on his face!!!! While we were there the bathroom in my parents basement was having issues and the septic pump decided to stop working...... So we all pitched in to help get things under control and cleaned up.... Jordan and I tackled the mechanical room with clorox while Jenna and her roomates threw the towels (that saved the carpet) in the washer at Grandpa's (Yep their washer was on the fritz as well)... We decided that gloves on our feet as well as our hands would make for the easiest cleanup..... Mom didn't want us walking in the mess and then tracking it through the house, this way we could just throw the gloves away and be done with it!!!!

Kayson and Tio (uncle in Spanish) met for the first time and clicked instantly- I think they are going tobe great buddies!!!!! Tio was able to get the first real full blown giggle out of Kayson.....
Nanna pulled out the 'ol walker that we all played in..... Kayson looks so grown up sitting in it- he had a great time kicking his feet and wasn't too sure what to think once when he kicked so hard that he moved a few inches~
We thought that dinner was ruined when we woke up Sunday morning only to find that the roast hadn't been turned on in the crock pot- BUT Dad was there to save the day and we had an amazing roast and potatoes topped off with his famous homemade rolls- of which I stoll several to bring home with me!!!
This is what Bry looks like after three hours of church and to the point of extreme hunger and due to Jayme's awsome photography skills you can see the potatoes he was about to tear in to!!!!!!!
Bry takin a quick snooze before making the trip back home!!!

Thanks for a great weekend you guys can't wait till next time!
