Start to Memorial Weekend

Cousin Rusty and Myself started the holiday weekend early. We took off Friday and went to Tony Grove to get one last taste of winter before giving into summer. Top of Mt. Naomi.

We started the day snowboarding, but the conditions made for better snowmobiling so we only made a few runs.

Smithfield canyon.

Ran out of snow until next year........

{Black and White Days}

Last weekend was the annual Richmond Black and White Days..... The parade is our favorite part and this year Kayson was so fun..... he really got into the whole picking up candy thing and candy is one thing that you definitely get at this parade- I think Kayson filled at least half a bag full........ silly boy! The fire trucks at the very end were his favorite, he said," WOOOOW!"

Just chillin..........

He figured out that if he waved then they threw candy at him...... as you can tell I (I mean Kayson) wasn't fast enough at picking it all up, what can I say there was ALOT of candy!
Is that what I think it is??

Yep it's Nibbles with a "cow" hat on...... she is trying to blend in and participate in the festivities!!! (she's thrilled can you tell???)
After the parade Kel and Dan let us take Kayson for a ride behind the wheeler in this little trailer.... we weren't sure how this would go down since Kayson likes to be the one driving but it was a huge hit. He loved it!!!!!! Thanks for a fun evening you guys!
I love this picture... he's just enjoying the ride... lol!

Jackson Trip.................

Here is another break from Kayson photos. Each May 1st a group of us head to Jackson Wyoming for a back pack trip to look for horns, wild life and just explore new country. It has become somewhat of a tradition, here are some photos of this years expedition.

Snow covered Teton Mountains...............

Rusty and Boone at base camp, It would not be May 1st in Jackson with out new snow on the ground.

Me trying to figure out how to get down the mountain side................

Crossing Spred Creek, cold water, and sharp rocks makes for sore feet................

Me enjoying one of the few moments of sun shine on the trip..............

Rusty holding a matched set of elk sheds he found, we walked lots of miles to find those.

Grizzly Bear tracks in the mud................

More signs of wild life...........................

Josh Austin taking a lunch break as the next storm roles in behind him...........

In my old age I need an afternoon nap or I get grumpy, this was a nice dry spot...............

Climbing out of one of the many canyons we went through..........................

One last rest before we make the last push for the truck........we had some long cold nights and some long days hiking but it was great trip.....already making plans for May 1st 2011.....

{Giddy up}

Most of the time Kayson has an audience.... Bryan and I are his biggest fans, BUT the Grandma's and Grandpa's, Aunts and Uncles get a kick out of him too and he can sure put on a show...........

Mom- I think you crack me up just as much as Kayson...... LOL!
