Christmas!

This year we spent Christmas in Burley at my parents house.... but we had gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Westerberg and Grandma Arda to open also and rather than haul them to Burley and back we decided to open them the night before we left!!! SO this is Kayson opening his first gift from Grandma and Grandpa Westerberg.... he was super enthused can you tell??? Actually he thought the paper was neat... it made noise! Thanks you guys for the great gifts- It's amazing that you always know just what to get us! Kayson also thanks you for the diapers (which are always needed) and the awesome jumperoo- Kayson has had a ball in it the last day or two. We'd also like to thank Grandma Arda for the contributions to our book collection (Kayson LOVES books) Goodnight Moon is a classic and you can never go wrong with Cat In The Hat- our favorite was the Adorable Mush-A-Belly Monkey! I wish I had a pic it is so darling, and fits well considering Kayson is our MONKEY!

This is Mom's tree before the present opening frenzy began! Your tree is always so cute mom- great job!!!This was what Santa brought the three of us. Kayson's stuff is in the middle (spoiled little stink) and then Bryan and My stuff is on the outsides! I am happy to report that I now have no excuse to not be completely domestic- Santa brought me a sewing machine!!!! SO- with my roll making being perfected and my new sewing machine- I am set.. Although this could be scary- I tried to sew a pair of Bryan's pants once (mending a hole) and I sewed the legs together- so we shall see what adventures this brings and I hope that I learn to enjoy sewing- at the moment I loathe it but I decided it was something that everyone should have!!! Here is Kayson and Nanna Opening the first of many new books that Santa brought him- Chika Chika Boom Boom is a favorite that I had as a kid and I think everyone should add to their collection!
Kayser also got some yummy MUM-MUM treats to try and he loves them- they are supposed to be sucked and chewed (they dissolve super fast) on for teething babies..... NOT MINE- he bites HUGE chunks off and chews them once before swallowing and digging in for more!!!! Funny baby! This is Mom and Dad preparing the Wonderful Christmas dinner- Thanks you guys it was yummy! Dad I think the rolls were the best you've ever done!

This is Jason and Bry digging Dad's truck out- Jason was headed to Grandpa's for a bit and got stuck in the snow...( take note of the almost buried old lawnmower- by the end of the day it was no longer visible!)Jason and Bryan spent most of the day after Christmas digging us out of the snow...... it snowed Christmas Day and night and this is what we woke up to...... The drifts were incredible and Bryan used his amazing tractoring skills to dig all the cars out and then some! These pics were pretty much at the end of the day and I wish I would have gotten some better ones of the incredible drifts, but It gives you at least some kind of an idea!!!
Overall we had a great few days and we want to thank my parents for a great Christmas and for letting us spend it with you! We had tons of fun.... I would also like to let my sisters know that the revenge of the Guitar Hero and Sing Star Champion will soon be upon them..... DUN DUN DUN ( scary music ).......................

Where has this month gone????

Holy Smokes........ I can't even believe that December is practically over not to mention there are only 3 FREAKING DAYS left till Christmas and I can hardly stand it!!!!! I LOVE CHRISTMAS... but I will be the first to admit that this year has been kinda different.... I have loved having a baby to be able to buy things for, but I have felt more stressed out this month than I ever have during any other Christmas.... several things to blame I am sure all piled into one! Needless to say I am grateful for this time of year and I am making an extra effort this week and next to not stress over the little things, and to remember what Christmas is really about....... The shopping is done, the cards are out (finally), The last party was yesterday, we have a beautiful, healthy, growing little boy, and we are going to be with family and friends- what more could we ask for?NOW- on to my post...... I have a bit to catch up on.... at the beginning of the month we got a brief visit from Auntie Meme and Tio. Jason got excepted to Utah State ( Yay congrats little bro.) and had to come take a few tests and finalize his housing... so we had a great time with them and we are so excited for Jas. The 2nd week in December I was able to go see my family... it had been a little over a month and they were dying to see Kayson.....so I went there and had a great week with my fam-I was also able to do some hair and earn some Christmas money which was a huge help!!! This is Kayson shortly after getting home.... he was wiped!!!!!!!The little pill is growing up way too fast.... we have tried all the vegetables and all the fruits and he LOVES all of them I thought maybe we'd have an issue with peaches but when we gave it a second try he loved 'em.... I am just grateful that we don't have a picky eater...... yet anyway!!! We have also almost mastered the sippy cup! Kayson has such a mind of his own and decided that he wanted to start drinking out of Bryan and I's cups....... so we thought aw what the heck let's see what he does with a sippy cup...... SO we've tried it, he loves it, and that's that!!!!!The other night Kayson was being so silly and making us giggle so I thought I'd throw a few of these on here... Bryan was teasin Kayson with some toys and after a minute or two he decided he'd had enough.... "If Dad can put it in his mouth then by dang so can I!" He stood right up and lunged at Bryan clinging to the other end of the toy with is SLOBBERY little gums- and when I say slobbery I mean it..... this child drools more than I ever thought was possible..... Anyway it was so cute and made us laugh!!!! Of course after he saw that he got us to giggle he did it over and over and over...... Well that about covers it for us....... other than the Holidays rapidly approaching things at our house are busy but same 'ol same 'ol......... This is Kayson touching the tree he is not so sure what to think it's kinda pokey but he LOVES to stare at the lights!!!! We thought for sure that after last week he'd been put on the naughty list ( little stink was so onery )..... but I think Santa would agree that he has redeemed himself this week and may just get some presents after all!!!!!! Merry Christmas everyone......... hope it's filled with joy and laughter!!!!
PS> We got our very first ENTIRE night of sleep from 8:30PM- till 8:00 AM the other night and having kayson in his own room seems to be a huge Success!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!! Also on a side note I want to say GOOD LUCK AGGIES tonight against Utah............ Show 'em yer "A" game!!!

Rolls Rolls Rolls and Nap Time.......

I had to post this picture- it just makes me giggle..... Oh I love my Chunky Monkey- He's getting to be quite the heavy little man, someday I will post a picture of the incredible muscles that have recently formed on my arms!!! HAHAHATHIS is Kayson's idea of nap time...... Sorry the pics aren't that good but I had to snap them fast.... I layed him in his bed sound asleep and not even 5 minutes later I heard banging on the crib and went in to check on him and he was banging this poor puppy to death AND he thought it was quite funny...... needless to say nap time today was a struggle........

Happy Late Turkey Day!!!

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving- I know we did! We were able to spend the day at Mom and Dad Westerberg's!!!! We were in the company of great family- including: Grandma Arda, Dan and Kel- Sara, Bryon and the girls! Wendy cooked her famous, HEAVENLY Ham (as well as a turkey) and stuffing, Sara made homemade rolls that were delish, Dan and Kel brought some amazing yams- of which Kayson LOVED- Arda brought the gravy and we brought fruit salad!!! The worst part about Thanksgiving is getting full- everything tastes so good......... We had a great time watching Kayson enjoy eating most of my mashed potatoes and yams, and he enjoyed Bryan's ice water as well!!!!

After the first few bites I decided it would be best to take his shirt off and it's a good thing too the onsie he had on has deffinately seen better days!!!! Here is Terry after dinner enjoying the best part of Thanksgiving....... Grandma Arda's famous chocolate dessert! YUM!!!!
This is Bryon and Audrey getting ready to open their ornaments from Grandma Arda. (every year at Thanksgiving Arda gives all the Grandkids and Greatgrandkids a new ornament!)I wasn't very on the ball with my camera so I didn't get pics of everyone, but We wanted to say Thanks to Wendy and Terry for a great day and Thanks to Kel for taking some fun family pics to send to Elder Westerberg- it was so fun!!! (PS Thanks Sara- yes I stoll this off your blog! :))I also wanted to give a shout out to all the guys and their vast tree picking knowledge- Bryan brought back a great tree this year and the decorating is underway... pics to come- can't wait to see everyone elses......

We are so thankful for so many things but most of all we are so blessed to have such wonderful families and each other! Our little Kayce Man has brought so much joy into our home and we are so thankful that he is healthy and growing like a weed- I love this time of year and the opportunity it brings to reflect on all the things we are blessed with and all that we have to be thankful for....... Isn't life grand?

FINALLY~

Saturday evening, the gals and I got together for a serious "Girls Night Out". Starting from left to right it's Kensy, Jenna, Me, Megan, Angela, Ann, and Steph..... We met at Cafe Rio and enjoyed each others company at dinner and then off to the long and anxiously awaited TWILIGHT......... ...... I actually enjoyed the movie and there were definitely some scenes that I thought were right on..... The baseball scene and the fight scene were my favorites and I thought they came pretty darn close to what I had imagined from the book, on the other hand...... I am not a huge fan of Edward. I don't mind his voice but I am afraid he is not my cup of tea when it comes to looks!! I did however enjoy watching James and I could do so all day- I thought he should have been Edward- but oh well. Bella and the Cullens were all great and were just what I'd pictured.

SO overall, aside from Edward being a disappointment and some special effects that weren't quite up to par- I enjoyed the movie and I can't wait to see the next one.............. Please feel free to share your thoughts?!!!

New Furniture????????

I have been wanting to paint my table for quite some time now.... It was my parents and when I moved out they got a new one so I inherited this one...... It was super scratched and chipped and the paint was coming off all over it- SO I decided to paint it........ Some sanding, a coat of primer, and a few coats of paint later ..............DRUM ROLL PLEASE..........

Bada Bing bada boom- and this is my table after! It was quite the project but I am very pleased with the finished product. It turned out nice.... I LOVE IT...

These were the chairs before- given to us by Grandma Arda- I think they are the cutest chairs but they too needed a bit of a face lift.......These are the chairs after.... I got some seat cushions to tide me over till I can find the fabric I want to cover the seats- nonetheless I LOVE them black and I think they turned out great as well.....
This little bench goes with the table and it got a makeover as well of course-

So there ya have it- this is my "new" old table!!!!! AMAZING what a little paint can do...... (I have Sara K to credit for inspiring me to take on a paint project- she does it all the time although I paint furniture and she paints walls.....)

Next up is all the furniture in my bedroom- I can't wait to get my hands on it...........

GO AGGIES!!!

The Aggies had their first season home game tonight and we decided to take Kayson and go cheer them on!!! We wanted to Thank Grandma and Grandpa for the tickets these games are always so much fun and we look forward to a fantastic season... the Aggies are a fairly new team this year with a lot of Freshmen and I think they've got their work cut out for 'em but nevertheless the home games are always a blast and we deffinately enjoy going!
Kayson was so good through the whole game and even got a chance to sit with Aunt Sara and say hi to Auntie Bugz! He was a trooper.... I thought that maybe the noise would bother him but it really didn't!

Congrats Aggies for an awsome win and we look forward to a great season!!!!!!
