{April in a nutshell}

WARNING: Proceed with caution. Long post and lots of pictures ahead!!

This month has flown right past me.... Before you know it, we will be out of April and into May! YAY, May is an exciting month and there is lots going on.... BUT I would like to recap on the past month. It has come and gone like the blink of an eye and we've been busy as ever! Our April has gone as follows:
EASTER~I made Kayson's Easter basket this year. My Mom made these for us growing up and I thought they were so cute, not to mention they lasted 25 years! What a fun tradition and I thought it turned out SO CUTE!This is Kayson after finding what the "Easter Bunny" brought.... yep he has a mouth full of candy and yep it's first thing in the morning! He's a kid and it's EASTER, so I thought what the heck........
He got some MORE cars (cause that's his favorite thing) and when he saw them his reaction was priceless he said, "WHOA TARS" (cars). We had a great Easter weekend watching conference and visiting family! It doesn't get much better than that!

HORSES~ We have the opportunity and privilege of living close to Aunt Kel and Uncle Dan which is so much fun. Kayson has been able to ride Lucky a few times since the weather has been a bit nicer and he LOVES IT! In fact we go over there often to feed Lucky and Nibbles and we can't forget Slim while we are at it.:) Thanks Kel for putting up with us........

BABY SHOWERS~At the very beginning of April I had the opportunity of seeing an old and dear friend! Jennifer (Snoderly) Roth. She is getting ready to have a baby boy in a few months and I am SO excited for her. She had a baby shower in Utah that I was able to go to and I am so glad.... It was so good to see her!!!! Thanks for a fun day Jen and it was so great to see your fam!
I also went to another baby shower for my friend McKensy.... She is due in May YAY! Sorry I don't have any pics Kens it was sure fun though!
SHED~ We have been in need of shed and it was on our list of things to do. Thanks to my amazing FIL and husband........ we now have one and it's perfect. It turned out so great and it just keeps getting cuter! Bryan put up some trim on it yesterday and tomorrow for family night we are going to get it and the door painted!!! THANK YOU so much Terry for all of your help and Bry you have done a GREAT job.......

HAIRCUTS~ Bryan teases me... he says "You'd think that having a hairdresser for a wife constitutes getting a haircut whenever you want....." But he claims that he has to ask a million times before I finally get around to actually doing it...... Ok, so maybe he doesn't get it the minute he asks, BUT he does eventually get his haircut and the last few times I just throw Kayson in the chair and do him right after Bryan...... Kill two birds with one stone right?! He LOVES getting his haircut and thinks he is pretty cool sitting there with the cape on. This last time I gave him a big boy haircut..... I used the clipper and guard, AND I actually had to trim up his neckline. He sat SO STILL I was so proud of him... what a BIG BOY he's getting to be..... :(

PROM~ This last week I went to Burley for my 6 week "Hair Trip". My clientele up there is growing all the time and I LOVE my clients. We have so much fun. THIS time was a bit different. Jordan was going to Prom, so I had the opportunity of doing her hair!
She looked SO CUTE! Her date was Lance Smith. They were such a darling couple, and she had a great time!
My Mom and sisters and I got to go watch her do the Promenade with Lance (He's a senior) and they looked like they were having a blast!!!Love ya Jord you looked gorgeous!
YARD~ Bry has been working so hard on our yard.... the minute the snow was starting to melt he was out trimming the apple trees. The rock wall out back is almost finished and looks GREAT, we have tulips blooming, and we've planted several trees, shrubs and ground covers that are doing good so far (we are keeping our fingers crossed that we can keep them all alive)!
We LOVE our yard and can't wait for summer so that we can spend more time in it!
KAYSON TERRY~ Kayson is so much fun! He keeps us laughing so much and is such a sweet little boy MOST of the time! :) I say most because he is a toddler and I'd be lieing if I said he was a perfect angel ALL the time!
He is saying more and more things all of the time....the most recent words added to his vocab are:YEAH (my favorite), Doc ( off of the movie cars), It's uck (it's yuck- this one comes in handy especially if he is trying to get out of something like taking a bath for instance), It's hot, mon Mom/Dad (C'mon Mom/Dad), and he snaps his fingers really well (or so he thinks and it's so dang cute- video coming soon), AYE (means Hi and Bye), Eye, and I know there are alot more, but It's getting late and my brain is beginning to shut down :)
Kayson thinks this is his own little chair, and he's having a serious conversation with Bumpa about "Stars" the dog that lives next door! We love our little guy!! My Mom got him the disney movie Tarzan for Easter! He loves it, but now I have a little Boy running around my house beating his chest and making tarzan sounds all the time. Not to mention he growls at me like the cheatah in the movie if I irritate or make him mad.
Kayson LOVES to play outside and the last few days have been hard with the wet, cold weather back. WE NEED SPRING... as I am sure everyone does!
Well, that about covers April, now I am just gearing up for May..... I am looking forward to warmer weather, getting flowers and a garden planted, and wrapping up some projects around the house- pics coming soon!

{Great weather}

The past 2 weeks Kayson and I have been taking many walks to a little park about 3 blocks from our house to do this......

The weather has been SOOOOO nice and last week we had Jayme and Jordan here, so we took them with us and Kayson had a BLAST!! He loves the slides and the swings.

I am sad to report that we are getting SNOW today! YUCK..... Snow snow go away, bring back the sunshine so we can play!!!!!!
On a side not I also wanted to add that Bryan got our shutters up on our house..... they look so good and and so much character to the house. GOOD JOB HON!!NOW, if the rest of that snow could melt then I could get some flowers in and get my pots planted, and we could finish painting the trim that we started last fall!!!!!!!

{Just a quick post}

This is how Kayson sleeps lately! Where he learned it I don't know but we think it's pretty cute!

AND.... this has been his new favorite thing..... he is a Binky boy and I have been catching him with 2 in his mouth lately sometimes it's backwards, but most of the time he is sucking on two Binky's at once..... silly boy. I swear he has them hidden Because I will give him one and then never fail- he ends up with two.

A few weekends ago we were at Grandma Arda's and Holly came by with Sidney and Shelby. Before we left we told Kayson to give Grandma and the Girls loves..... pretty soon it turned into a game. From one to the next to the next, over and and over and over......
Grandma........

Shelby.........
Sidney.........

Holly.........

The little doll in the corner........

And then it started over. We got a kick out of him and I am so glad that he got to play with Sidney and Shelby for a bit. Thanks girls it was so fun to see you!
We are having some fabulous spring weather this week and My sisters are here visiting for spring break so we will have some fun pics to post soon.........

{Masterpiece}

Kayson loves to play on the computer. He puts his hands on the keyboard and pretends to type, but his favorite thing is the mouse. It's so cute how he rolls the little button in the middle, that makes the page go up or down, he does it with one finger. So ........ the other day I brought up the "paint" program and let him go to town with his "mouse using" skills! This is what he created........... Definitely deserves a spot on the fridge!

{Little Man}

Kayson and his attitude.......... ..... The toddler days are upon us. He's been making us laugh ALOT lately, but along with the laughter comes the Independence, stubbornness, determination, occasional meltdowns over absolutely nothing, and his ability to constantly amaze me with how smart he is and how quickly he picks up on things. All this aside, I love him and he makes me so happy.

I wanted to also touch a little bit on Valentine's Day- I know it's after-the-fact, but I think the WHOLE month of February is associated with Valentine's. We had a great weekend, and we are still laughing about the pic below........ we got each other the same exact card!!! Great minds think alike I guess...... we got them at different stores, at different times- I had gone to town to a matinee with my good friend Kensy on Saturday, and when I got home this card along with a heart shaped cake, and some BEAUTIFUL pink flowers, were waiting for me on the counter. When I opened the card I just started laughing. I got Bry a really yummy cake from Sam's Club and the EXACT same card!!!!!!!!! What are the odds? Needless to say we had lots of chocolate cake.......

{Celebrating 9 Years and Still Going Strong}

Today is a special day for my family! We are celebrating the 9th Anniversary of my Dad's Transplant. When I look back on this incredible journey- I am humbled and amazed at the strength and determination that my Dad has each day. He has been through so much yet he remains so strong.
I was able to go to Burley last week and be there for Dad's 50th Birthday (WHOO HOO) and Kayson and I, also had the opportunity to go with him to CSI (College of Southern Idaho) in Twin Falls ,where he speaks in one of the classes each semester on Organ Donation. He has a whole presentation that he has put together. It gives him the opportunity to tell his story and show people first hand just how amazing being an organ donor can really be. Many people are not familiar with Organ Donation and it can be something that people are scared of or uncomfortable talking about. My Dad does a fabulous job and his sense of humor, and personal experience combined with his incredible ability to speak in public makes for an amazing presentation and I am so glad that I was able to go and listen in.

The lady in the pic below is Deb Annest, Dad has been speaking in her class for seven years now and they have become good friends! She is a neat lady and was very accommodating. She was so concerned about his health and made sure that he didn't overdo it. This particular time was a bit different because one of the Twin Falls news stations was there and before he began they interviewed him and then stayed and taped much of the class. It aired that night as the feature story on the 6 and 10 o'clock news.

Kayson was soooooo good and sat still through the entire thing! I was so proud of him and I was so grateful that I was able to sit and listen as well. We had an amazing experience this past summer when we were able to meet the donor family. The Clutters. There were so many emotions that were there that day but it was an incredible experience and such an important day for my parents and my family. The pic below is all of us girls with Shannon and her son Hunter. She was so much fun and we had a great time. We enjoy staying in touch and talk to her regularly.This was my whole family the night before the meeting. It's very rare that we are ALL TOGETHER!!! This is Sandy and Jerry Clutter. They are the parents of Jerryd Clutter who is the boy that my Dad got his organs from. What neat people they are and we will forever be grateful for their gift.
Happy 9 years Dad. You are the greatest Dad in the world. We look forward to many many more years to come. Thanks for all you are and all that you stand for, you are the rock of our family and we love you so much.......

(Dad at Jason and Emily's wedding in September.)
